This is the Mars Family Foundation Grant Application Process.


Thank you for your interest in applying for a Mars Family Foundation grant. Please note the following:

  • All funding decisions of The Mars Family Foundation are the purview of its board of directors.

  • The Foundation cannot:
    • Provide grants to individuals
    • Fund overhead or indirect costs
    • Grants given primarily to Wisconsin based nonprofits.

    • We support organizations that are exempt from federal taxation under Section 501(c)(3)
      of the Internal Revenue Code and publicly supported under Section 509(a)(1), (2), or (3)

    • We are currently accepting Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) through March 31, 2025.
    • Organizations selected to proceed in the grant application process will be notified by April 15, 2025.
    • If invited, please ensure your completed grant application is submitted by May 31, 2025.
    • We invite you to submit your LOI by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

  • Applicants will be notified of approval or denial by July 1st of each year.
  • Awarded funds will be dispersed on or before December 1st of each year.
  • This year, the Mars Family Foundation is placing primary emphasis on supporting both the arts and organizations that are dedicated to helping animals. While we welcome Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) from all nonprofit missions, please note that our primary focus will be on these two areas.
  • If your organization is not invited to submit a full grant application this year, we encourage you to submit an LOI again next year, as our focus areas evolve annually. We appreciate all the important work that is done in our communities!
  • Please also note that the average grant size awarded through this portal is $2,000.
